The CareOregon Foundation partners with communities and organizations to remove social and economic barriers to community and individual health and resilience. A new organization, the Foundation will work with and support organizations and collaboratives that prioritize diversity, equity and inclusion.
The CareOregon Foundation was created by CareOregon, Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides Medicaid insurance to more than 500,000 Oregonians. CareOregon, Inc. is committed to making sure all members receive equal access to healthcare, regardless of their income or background.
CareOregon, Inc. already supports many community organizations, healthcare providers, and other partners. However, Medicaid has strict rules about how its funds can be used. To expand the deep commitment to healthier communities, CareOregon, Inc. created the Foundation. This Foundation has more freedom to support creative, innovative, and experimental programs that address health inequities across Oregon.
The CareOregon Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit with an eight-member board and a Managing Director who oversees operations.
Board Members:
Emma Gonzalez-Bencomo • Peter Buckley • Joanne Fuller • Vickie Gates (Vice Chair) • Bonnie Lerner • Larissa Medina • Gil Munoz (Finance Chair) • Suk Rhee (Chair).
Managing Director:
Dahnesh Medora
